Treatment aftercare
Good results deserve a little care. Find your treatment below for simple advice on what to do before your visit and how to look after the finish at home. If your therapist gives you a different timing for your treatment, follow their advice.
-
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
The day before, exfoliate gently all over, paying attention to elbows, knees, ankles and any old tan. Shave or wax in advance, ideally at least 24 hours beforehand. Moisturise dry areas in the days leading up, but arrive with clean, completely dry skin and no body lotion, oil, deodorant, perfume or makeup. Wear loose, dark clothing and easy-to-slip-on shoes home.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
Keep your skin dry while the tan develops. Your therapist will tell you exactly when to rinse according to the formula and the depth of colour you want; an express tan is usually rinsed after 2–4 hours. For the first rinse, use lukewarm water only, with no soap or scrubbing. The guide colour washing away is expected—the finished tan continues to develop afterwards. Pat dry, then moisturise daily once the colour has developed. Gentle showers, no exfoliating and less friction will help it fade evenly. Your spray tan offers no sun protection, so wear SPF as usual.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Please arrange your patch test at least 48 hours before your lash lift. Come with clean lashes and no eye makeup if you can. Tell us about any eye sensitivity or recent treatments at your consultation.
THE FIRST 24 HOURS
Treat your new lift gently: keep lashes dry and avoid steam, saunas, vigorous rubbing, eye makeup and oily products around the lash line. Try not to sleep with your face pressed into the pillow.
AFTER THAT
Cleanse the eye area gently and brush the lashes into place with a clean spoolie. Avoid lash curlers and be gentle when removing mascara. The nourishing lash and brow serum available at Take Time helps keep the hairs conditioned. Apply it to your lashes every morning and night after the first 24 hours, following your therapist’s advice on application. Your natural lash cycle means the lift will gradually grow out.
-
THE FIRST DAY
Be gentle with your new set. Avoid rubbing or pulling the lashes, and keep them away from steam and heavy moisture for the first 24 hours unless your therapist gives you different instructions for the adhesive used.
EVERYDAY CARE
Cleanse the lash line regularly with an extension-safe, oil-free lash cleanser and a soft brush, then rinse and let the lashes dry. Brush through gently with a clean spoolie. Keep oily skincare and heavy eye creams away from the bonds, avoid waterproof mascara, and never pick or try to remove extensions yourself. Natural lashes shed as they grow, so book infills when your set needs refreshing. If your eyes become red, swollen or uncomfortable, contact us promptly.
-
THE FIRST 24 HOURS
Your gel is cured before you leave, but give the manicure a gentle start. Avoid long, hot baths, swimming and prolonged soaking of your hands for the first day.
MAKE IT LAST
Massage cuticle oil into each nail and the surrounding skin every day, and use hand cream when your hands feel dry. Wear gloves for washing up, cleaning and gardening, especially around detergents. Treat your nails as jewels, not tools: use the pad of your finger rather than the nail to open cans or scrape labels.
IF SOMETHING LIFTS
Please do not pick, peel or pull at the gel—that can take layers of your natural nail with it. Get in touch and we can advise on a repair or safe removal. Book professional removal or your next manicure when it is time for a refresh.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Please arrange a patch test at least 48 hours before your treatment. Let us know about sensitive skin, recent brow treatments or products you are using around the area.
THE FIRST 24 HOURS
Keep brows dry and avoid steam, saunas, rubbing, exfoliants and makeup on the brow area while the new shape settles. Try not to sleep with pressure on your brows.
AFTER THAT
Brush the hairs gently into your preferred shape with a clean spoolie. The nourishing lash and brow serum available at Take Time helps keep the brow hairs conditioned. Apply it every morning and night after the first 24 hours, following your therapist’s advice on application. Avoid harsh exfoliating products directly on the brows and do not trim or tweeze heavily between visits if you want us to maintain the shape for you.
